LUKOIL Strikes Gas in Uzbekistan

Russian energy firm Lukoil has discovered new gas and condensate field on South-West Gissar block in Uzbekistan, reports in the media said.

A 3km-deep test well produced up to 650,000 cu. m of gas and more than 70 tonnes of gas condensate daily. Lukoil will evaluate the size of the deposit later.

Lukoil has been exploring the South-Western Gissar block since 2008. It had proven reserves of 1.1 trillion cu. feet of gas and 15m barrels of oil and of gas condensate at the beginning of 2012.
